LERS
began as a personal culinary endeavor in 1969, when Fely Pelaez
learned to prepare delicious smoked country ham in her home
at Del Monte, Bukidnon. That year, family members and friends
bought her ham for Noche Buena (Christmas dinner).
The ham eventually became popular.
So, what started out as a small hobby became a cottage industry,
and later a family corporation, selling also in Cagayan de
Oro, and now in Manila. Despite its growth, SLERS continues
to make fine quality foods the traditional way. SLERS products
have a reputation for making special occasions even more special,
and making any day a holiday.
Aside from producing quality
foods, SLERS is also involved in food education. It is leading
the industry in adopting food safety and quality assurance
procedures in the Philippines. It is the first to provide
the public with seminars and workshops to encourage personnel
hygiene and safe food preparation.
The brand name SLERS is an
acronym of the names of Fely's children.
